Belleek PorcelainBelleek Porcelain is made in County Fermanagh in Ireland. They did and still do specialize in producing openwork baskets with fine, applied floral decoration and delicate vases and tableware.
It was then called D.McBirney & Co. Like all potteries, Belleek initially produced earthen domestic wares in the form of mortar and pestles, tiles and tableware. Yet it was Belleek’s Parian figures and Porcelain Busts and Centrepieces that were hailed at the 1872 Dublin Exposition achieving great acclaim for Belleek and securing their position in the market place. In 1884 with the death of the founders the pottery was sold to various investors who then changed the name to Belleek Pottery Works. Orders came in from England; America and Australia yet difficult times were ahead for Belleek during the world wars. Production, no matter how small in scale, never ceased. The pottery changed hands numerous times and still exists today. For collectors Belleek offers items from the affordable into the more expensive rare pieces that are sought by serious buyers worldwide. Visit our Belleek Gallery
